This Privacy Policy and its attached Appendices (“Policy”) describe the way in which Viva Republica Vietnam Ltd., its affiliates, affiliated companies and jointly controlled legal entities (collectively called “Toss”, “we”, “ours”) collect, use, process and provide your Personal Data through using mobile application and website of Toss (hereinafter referred to as “Application” and “Website”), as well as other global products, features and services, operated by Toss (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”). 

This Policy applies to our customers, agents, vendors, suppliers, partners, contractors and service providers (collectively called “you”, “yours”). 

“Personal Data” is any information which can be used to identify you or from which you are identifiable. This includes but is not limited to your name, nationality, telephone number, bank and credit card details, personal interests, email address, your image, government-issued identification numbers, biometric data, race, date of birth, marital status, religion, health information, vehicle and insurance information, employment information and financial information.

By using the Services, registering for an account, or accessing the Application and Website, you acknowledge and agree that you accept this Privacy Policy, and you hereby agree to allow us to collect, store, disclose, process and use your Personal Data. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services, access the Application and the Website.


1. Information collection

You will provide your Personal data to us. 

We will collect the personal data only when you allow it to be provided to usas the below cases: 

  • When registering the Toss application
  • When applying for new services
  • When applying for solving civil affairs issues, disputes etc. 
  • When applying for events/ benefit programs 
  • When need to do authentication for service using purposes 
  • Other necessary cases while using services 

The information that you can provide to us will be included the below items: 

  • Personal information
  • Phone number
  • Living address, email 
  • Financial institution names/ Account numbers
  • Account owner
  • Mobile top-up information  
  • Credit score
  • Location information
  • Employment information

For such purposes as detecting and preventing fraud, we may collect your Personal Data without your consent, either on the basis of Legal Rights or other exemptions set forth by applicable laws of data privacy.

Also, when our Services are used, or our application/website is activated, the following Personal Data may be collected:

  • Phone device model, phone device manufacturer, OS version, carrier, phone device's serial number
  • IP address, cookies, ADID
  • In-application usage data (using features of the application such as accessing the screen/menu, selecting buttons, occurred errors during use)
  • Application version, time of last access, date of consent to receive advertising information, country, language, area code
  • Physical activity information, total step count, step type (walking/jogging/ going up and down stairs), distance traveled, walking speed, calories burned, steps, movement information summary, data of sleeping information, etc
  • Status information (Toss application usage history, user’s online activity information which can be captured and analyzed about customer’s interests, favorites, tastes, trends, etc.)
  •  Any other information when logging in and using the Services or Applications/Websites.

2. Personal Data Use

Toss may use, combine and process your Personal Data for the following purposes (hereinafter referred to as “Purposes”):

-Offering services and features.

Your Personal data will be used to provide, personalize, maintain and improve our applications, websites and services. This includes using your Personal Data to:

  • Provide, improve and maintain the Service
  • Authenticate yourself
  • Ensure ways of communication to fulfill legal obligations such as handling civil matters, settling disputes,
  • Convey service-related announcements, customer satisfaction survey
  • Announce final results of promotion events, delivery, announcement of special events
  • Conduct statistical analysis and application of information on service usage
  • Provide appropriate interface, service, report
  • Select subjects to provide services
  • Provide functions when entering information using existing information
  • Prevent abuse (for the purpose of effectively managing the monitoring of suspicious transactions, preventing cases of receiving duplicate bonus points, preventing cases of service abuse), troubleshoot, build privacy policy
  • Search bank, credit score and card usage status
  • Trust score
  • Support lock/unlock account
  • Count steps: Paying bonus points according to the number of steps
  • Provide advertising/marketing (including relevant and appropriate content)
  • Location-based information: Provide promotion benefits 

We may use the Personal Data we have collected for the purposes of investigating, resolving complaints or disputes, or as permitted or required by applicable law. We may also use Personal Data without consent, by means of lawful rights or other exemptions provided by applicable data privacy laws, for such purposes as detect and prevent fraud.

We may disclose and/or transfer Personal Data to third parties for the aforementioned Purposes. This disclosure and/or transfer will be implemented in accordance with the current process and laws.

3. Location-based services

On the application, Toss uses the permission of your phone device to provide services based on location data. In the event that you refuse to allow the use of location-based service data, you may opt-out at any time by disabling the permission. We do not store any location data.   

4. Request for deletion of Personal Data

You may request the deletion of your Personal Data that we are storing by sending us an email at and we will proceed this request right after that.

5. Personal data erasure

The personal information we have collected will only be used for the purpose of providing you with the service. In case you no longer use the Toss application within 1 year, the information will be transferred to the Database for temporary storage and safety, and after 1 year of storage, your personal information will be permanently erased.

6. Children information

This service is not intended for children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children under the age of 13, we will immediately delete that information, unless we are legally obligated to store this data. Please contact us in case you believe that we have collected information from children under the age of 13 by accident or by mistake.

7. Use of Cookies

When you visit our Application or Website, we may use Cookies and other tracking techniques (referred to as “Cookies”). We use Cookies to acknowledge that you are a customer; to customize the Service, other content and advertising; to measure the effectiveness of promotions; to perform bulk analytical activities; to reduce risk and prevent potential fraud; and to promote trust and safety on our Services.

Certain Services are provided through the use of Cookies, so if you choose to disable or refuse Cookies, you may be limited or unable to use these Services.
