Apply to Toss

Once you’ve selected the position you want to pursue at Toss, it’s time to fill out your application form. At Toss, we prioritize one’s ability above all else, so we accept resume of any format. Feel free to include any information in your resume that best highlights your strengths. Do you feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start? Don’t worry. We're here to help!

Check before filling out the application.

  • Feel free to write your resume in any format that best showcases your capabilities and growth potential. Rather than listing all the experiences you've had, we encourage you to focus on the impact you made and the key learnings you gained from your experiences! It’s absolutely okay to include moments of failure as well. As long as you have worked to overcome challenges yourself or made efforts to improve, it’s just as impressive.
  • For development roles, please make sure to list your tech stack on your resume so we can assess your technical skills!
  • Please keep in mind that sensitive personal information like your resident registration number, home address, or current salary is not required in your resume.
  • If your resume is written in Hangul or Microsoft Word format, please convert it to PDF before submitting, to avoid font issues or formatting errors.
  • Lastly, each job posting includes a section called “Here’s how we recommend you write your resume.” Following these guidelines will be helpful.

Don't worry if you don't have a resume. Select the position you want, then create your resume using the guide provided by Toss.

We appreciate you taking the time to apply, and we make sure to carefully review every application and share the results as soon as possible. To avoid keeping you waiting, we’ll get back to you with the results as quickly as possible. If we find a position that may be a better fit for you than the one you applied for, our recruiter will reach out to you by phone.

Take interview

Assignment / Phone interview

For certain positions, we conduct a phone interview or ask you to complete an assignment before the main interview to get to know you better. Our recruiter will reach out to you ahead of time to coordinate a date and time that works for you.

Depending on the position you applied, the assignment could be a coding test, SQL test or other tasks that can be used to assess your skills and experiences. If this process is required for your role, we will review your assignment or phone interview results along with your resume and let you know if you will be moving forward to the interview stage.

Check before your interview.

  • Schedule coordination: We will notify you by phone if you have passed the document screening, and will arrange your interview to fit your schedule as much as possible. All interviews are held online (Google Meet/Zoom).
  • Interview process: We aim for one-on-one communication as much as possible. The interviewers you meet will be the colleagues you’ll work with most closely if you join. For remote interviews, a recruiter will contact you before the interview begins to check if your environment is properly set up. We recommend using earphones in a quiet, private space.
  • At Toss, interviews aren’t just about us evaluating you. Interviews are a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we can grow and innovate together. While we check your skills, it’s just as important for you to decide if you want to join Toss! We’re committed to making your interview a positive experience as you consider joining us!

Role-specific interview

This interview is an opportunity for you to showcase the professional experience and capabilities you've built, based on the resume you submitted. Be sure to explain your past experience in detail and highlight how your strengths can contribute to Toss! Before the interview ends, there will be time reserved for your questions—so it’s a great opportunity to learn more about Toss. If you're wondering about how the team works or who you might be working with, you can find role-specific interview stories on Tossfeed!

* Depending on the position, live coding, pre-assignment, or portfolio review may also be required.

Culture fit interview

This interview is to see if you are are a good fit to the Toss culture. Our interviewers have a deep understanding of Toss’ core values. Instead of just asking questions to evaluate you, we will have open and honest conversations about the Toss culture. You will be able to see if Toss’ way of working, core values, and culture are a good fit for you. We provide various content such as Toss guide videos and Tossfeed articles to help you prepare for the interview! As you explore these materials, think about which aspects of Toss culture resonate with you and what meaningful synergy there could be if you join us.

Reference check, compensation discussion, and final decision

Thank you for your passion you've shown in your journey to join the Toss Community. If you receive a positive result from the culture-fit interview, the next steps will include a reference check and discussion on compensation. Once all of these steps are completed, we will give you a final acceptance notice and begin coordinating your start date.

  • With your consent, we’ll proceed with the reference check process, which may take around one week to complete.
  • Once the reference check is complete, we will move on to discuss compensation based on the results.
  • We will request you to provide documentation needed to understand your current compensation.
  • We will discuss your compensation based on the documents you provided.
  • Once compensation discussion is done, we will coordinate your start date based on your and the team’s schedules.

If you have any concerns before making your final decision, please don't hesitate to contact the recruiting team at any time. You can quickly address your questions in a relaxed setting through casual conversations with your future teammates, outside of a formal interview setting.

Welcome to the Toss Community!

We are excited to have you join us on this journey of innovation! As your start date approaches, here’s what you can expect!

  1. We’ll be sending you a list of equipment and supplies you can request to create an optimal work environment.
  2. On your first day, you’ll join an onboarding session (orientation and core values) to kick off your journey in Toss! Over the first three weeks, we’ll guide you through a smooth soft landing!
  3. Your Mate, a dedicated team member who will help you out for three months, is waiting for you! If you have questions or want to take on new challenges, there is time reserved for you to have one-on-one time with your Mate to help you grow.

Let's start this new journey together as colleagues.
See you soon.
