Toss Awarded the National Commendation for Contributions to Information Security

• Toss CISO honored at the awards ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT
• Recognized for leading the advancement of information security systems

Toss announced that Jungho Chi, its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), received the National Commendation at the "2025 Government Awards Ceremony for Distinguished Contributions to Information Security," hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT on January 27. The commendation is a government honor granted to individuals whose contributions to the public welfare are clearly demonstrated.

Chi was recognized for leading the advancement of Toss's information security systems and embedding security throughout the organization as part of its culture. By strengthening the company's security management framework, he drove sustained investment in security, which has grown more than 15-fold compared with eight years ago, and led the continued expansion of specialized security talent.

Toss has built an advanced information security environment across the fintech industry. It became the first company in the financial sector to adopt voluntary information security disclosures, separated the roles of CISO and Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) by appointing each independently, and established an independent security governance framework.

Toss also shares its expertise with the wider industry each year through its security conference, "Guardians," contributing to a safer digital financial ecosystem.
