ISO 22301 is an internationally recognized standard for organizations that can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions while ensuring the continuity of critical business services. The certification is widely used by companies and public institutions to validate their business continuity capabilities against globally recognized standards.
To achieve the certification, Toss underwent a comprehensive assessment covering every stage of its business continuity management system, including business impact analysis, risk assessment, incident response and recovery planning, and operational reviews with business teams. The certification confirms that Toss's business continuity framework is not only well documented but also effectively implemented across the organization.
The certification reflects Toss' ongoing commitment to delivering reliable services to users. As the company operates a broad range of financial and consumer services, it has continued to strengthen its preparedness to minimize service disruptions and ensure operational resilience, even in unexpected situations.

Toss and Toss Bank announced that they have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL) to explore collaboration in blockchain-based payment infrastructure and stablecoin technologies.
Under the MOU, Toss, Toss Bank, and Circle will jointly explore opportunities to collaborate on payment and settlement infrastructure powered by stablecoins and blockchain technology. Subject to applicable regulatory frameworks, the companies will examine ways to connect Circle's infrastructure with the Toss and Toss Bank ecosystem while also exploring broader applications of blockchain-based payment and settlement infrastructure.
Leveraging its experience operating a financial super app, Toss will explore ways to enhance digital payment experiences through blockchain technology. The company will examine potential applications across digital wallets and payment and settlement infrastructure, as well as opportunities to integrate with blockchain networks, including biometric-enabled payments, USDC-based financial instruments, and programmable on-chain payments.
Building on its experience as an internet-only bank, Toss Bank will explore how stablecoins and blockchain technology can be applied to cross-border payments and settlement infrastructure. The bank will also examine how stablecoin infrastructure can interoperate with existing fiat payment rails and explore ways to improve the speed and efficiency of global payment and settlement by leveraging its account-based settlement capabilities.
The companies will also review opportunities related to KRW-denominated digital assets and tokenized financial services in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks. In addition, they plan to collaborate in areas essential to delivering secure and trusted services, including regulatory compliance, risk management, security, and anti-money laundering.

Toss announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute (KFTC), Naver Pay, and Kakao Pay to expand the use of the government's resident registration card verification system.
The agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening identity verification for digital financial services in Korea. By giving major electronic financial service providers access to the government verification system, the initiative is expected to help prevent financial crimes such as voice phishing and identity theft while providing customers with a safer and more trusted experience when using digital financial services.
Under the agreement, Toss will integrate its services with the government's resident registration card verification system through API development, with the service scheduled to launch later this year. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide the verification infrastructure and policy support, while the Financial Supervisory Service will oversee security and regulatory supervision. The Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute will serve as the intermediary responsible for connecting participating companies to the system.
The verification system compares the resident registration card information submitted by customers with official government issuance records, including the registered ID photo. By validating both identity information and photo records, the system improves the detection of forged or altered identification documents and enables more secure customer identity verification during non-face-to-face financial transactions.
The signing ceremony was held at Toss headquarters in Seoul on July 9 and was attended by Toss CEO SG Lee, Minister of the Interior and Safety Ho-jung Yun, FSS Governor Chan-jin Lee, KFTC President Byung-deuk Chae, and senior executives from Naver Pay and Kakao Pay.

Toss has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Optimism and Sunnyside Labs to explore next-generation blockchain infrastructure for the Korean financial market. Over the next three months, the companies will conduct a proof of concept (PoC) to evaluate whether Optimism's OP Stack can support institutional digital finance use cases, including future applications for KRW-backed stablecoins.
The pilot will evaluate three capabilities critical to regulated financial services: whether financial institutions can maintain control over transaction ordering and settlement, whether KYC and AML requirements can be implemented at the infrastructure level, and whether sensitive transaction data can remain confidential while operating on a public blockchain. The companies will leverage the OP Stack together with Sunnyside Labs' Privacy Boost technology to assess whether these requirements can be met in a blockchain-based financial environment.
During the verification process, Optimism will handle the blockchain-based infrastructure, while the privacy technology, Privacy Boost, will be handled by Sunnyside Labs, Optimism's official core development studio. Developed by Sunnyside Labs for institutional use, Privacy Boost enables confidential transaction processing on public blockchains while preserving auditability for regulated financial institutions. The technology also supports high transaction throughput, making it suitable for large-scale financial services.
Optimism is one of the world's leading Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystems, with more than 30 chains built on the OP Stack, including Sony's Soneium, World Chain, Unichain, OKX's X Layer, and Kraken's Ink. Toss Explores Next-Generation Digital Finance Infrastructure with Optimism and Sunnyside Labs

Company-wide program empowers employees to build, experiment with, and apply AI in their daily work
More than 500 hands-on AI clubs launched across Toss affiliates, uncovering practical use cases from workflow automation to AI agents
Toss has successfully completed AI Surf Day, a company-wide initiative designed to help employees build, experiment with, and apply AI in their day-to-day work. Running from April through June, the program reflects Toss' broader vision of becoming an AI-native organization, where every employee, not just AI specialists,can confidently use AI to solve real business problems.
Rather than treating this as conventional training, Toss focused on applying AI to real work and scaling it quickly across the entire organization. To that end,  employees organized their own “AI Surf Clubs” every Friday, where they ran hands-on sessions building workflow automation, vibe coding, and various AI-powered tools. Over the 12-week program, employees across all Toss affiliates launched 509 AI Surf Clubs, and the initiative earned an average satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5.
Moreover the program emphasized peer-driven learning over classroom instruction. Employees proposed topics, organized workshops, shared their own experiments, and introduced successful approaches to colleagues, creating a culture where AI knowledge spread organically across teams. As employees from different functions collaborated, practical AI applications quickly moved from experimentation into everyday work.
One standout project was an AI agent designed for junior account managers that applies game-like progression mechanics to employee development. The agent guides users through role-specific tasks while automating repetitive work such as drafting emails and searching sales materials. The project was recognized as one of the top entries in the Business Chapter AI Competition Workshop.
To further support AI adoption, Toss also appointed AI Surf Evangelists. A total of 142 employees were selected to champion AI within their teams by identifying new use cases, organizing workshops and meetups, and helping colleagues integrate AI into their daily workflows. The initiative enables each team to adopt AI in ways that best fit its unique responsibilities and ways of working.
"AI Surf Day marks an important step toward becoming a truly AI-native organization," a Toss representative said. "We will continue empowering every employee to use AI as a natural part of their work and foster a culture where AI helps us build better products and experiences for our users."
