Toss Expands Free International Remittance Service to 50 Countries
- Remittance coverage grows from 14 to 50 countries, backed by expanded multilingual support, foreigner-friendly verification systems, and fee-free transfers
- Building a more accessible financial ecosystem for foreign residents in Korea extends beyond remittances to include payments, administrative services, and everyday financial management
Toss, South Korea’s leading financial super-app, announced that it has expanded the number of countries supported by its international remittance service for foreign residents in Korea to a total of 50 countries.
The expansion reflects Toss’s ongoing efforts to make financial services as accessible and convenient for foreign residents as they are for Korean nationals. Since 2021, the company has invested in multilingual capabilities and dedicated infrastructure designed to address the unique challenges foreign users face when accessing financial services in Korea.
Building on that foundation, Toss has continuously enhanced its onboarding and identity verification systems, multilingual service offerings, and integrations with administrative services. The latest expansion to 50 countries marks another milestone in the company’s multi-year effort to create a more inclusive financial environment for foreign residents.
In partnership with global foreign exchange solutions provider SentBe, Toss has added 36 new destination countries, including Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, increasing the number of supported remittance destinations from 14 to 50 countries.
Toss also plans to continue its fee-free international remittance promotion through June 2026 for foreign residents in Korea. The initiative is designed to reduce the financial burden associated with sending money abroad and help users manage their finances more comfortably. As of November, foreign residents using Toss sent international remittances an average of 2.9 times per month. Based on a typical remittance fee of approximately KRW 3,800 per transaction, users save about KRW 11,000 per month on average.
According to monthly statistics published by Korea’s Immigration Service, the number of foreign residents in Korea reached approximately 2.83 million as of October 2025. Many face difficulties accessing financial services due to differences in naming conventions, languages, and documentation requirements, often resulting in verification errors and repeated administrative processes.
To address these challenges, Toss has developed an onboarding and verification structure that accommodates users regardless of nationality. The app currently offers more than 100 features across five languages—English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Russian.
As the platform’s capabilities have expanded, foreign users have increasingly adopted Toss as a central hub for managing their financial lives in Korea, rather than solely as a remittance app. Usage data shows that Toss’s asset management service—which allows users to view bank accounts, cards, and insurance products from multiple institutions in one place, as well as check balances, review transactions, and make transfers—was used approximately 35 times per month per user, indicating near-daily engagement. Users also checked credit card bills more than four times per week on average and reviewed income and spending records more than twice weekly.
Toss has also expanded convenience features beyond traditional financial services. Foreign users can instantly obtain administrative documents such as certificates of alien registration and national health insurance eligibility records directly through the app, eliminating the need to visit government offices. Users can also apply for medical expense reimbursements and access other public services digitally, reducing the complexity often associated with administrative and healthcare procedures. In addition, eligible foreign users can register for FacePay, Toss’s facial recognition payment service, enabling a seamless offline payment experience.
“Since 2021, Toss has been steadily building the infrastructure needed to remove structural barriers that foreign residents encounter when using financial services in Korea,” a Toss spokesperson said. “Guided by our belief that financial services should be accessible to everyone, we will continue expanding our support so foreign residents can enjoy a more convenient and inclusive financial experience.”
The broader Toss ecosystem has also continued to support financial inclusion for foreign residents. For example, Toss Bank became the first internet-only bank in Korea to provide financial education programs for international students and remains the only internet bank in the country that allows foreign residents to open accounts. As of the first half of 2025, the number of foreign customers holding Toss Bank accounts surpassed 100,000.

Easy and intuitive financial experience that’s never done before. With Toss, your everyday financial life is empowered.
