  • Silicon Valley engineers invited … sharing business vision and engineer-friendly culture
  • Prioritizing recruitment of top-tier talent … accelerating AI-powered service advancement

Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced that it held its first global recruitment networking event, the "Toss USA Meetup," on June 6th (PDT) in Los Altos, California. Engineers currently working in Silicon Valley were invited to the event.

Seung-gun Lee, CEO of Toss, introduced Toss’ business vision and its engineer-friendly work environment. Toss is currently enhancing its company-wide capabilities in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). Starting with its advertising and commerce businesses, the company is actively advancing the AI-driven transformation of its services. In this process, engineers can grow into AI experts by leveraging a culture of autonomous experimentation, a robust deployment system, and vast amounts of data generated by 24.8 million monthly active users (as of December 2024).

The venue, Toss USA, is Toss’s newly established global office in Silicon Valley, founded this year to recruit top talent from both Korea and abroad. Going forward, the office will serve as a hub for global engineers’ networking and for promoting Toss’s technological capabilities. Toss is also exploring partnerships with local organizations such as KOTRA Silicon Valley Trade Center, Changbal, and the Korean Computer Scientists and Engineers Association in America (KOCSEA).

This year, Toss plans to hire a triple-digit number of talents specialized in AI and data. The company launched a dedicated Data & AI Recruiting Team last month, which focuses on attracting experts for key roles that support Toss’ data-driven decision-making processes and maintain the infrastructure of more than 100 products.

“At Toss, securing top-tier engineers is our highest priority. We’re fully prepared to offer industry-leading compensation and benefits,” said Seung-gun Lee, CEO of Toss. We’re determined to establish ourselves as a leading company in AI, powered by the strength of our exceptional team.”
