Toss Launches New YouTube Channel ‘Toss Challengers’
- Large-scale recruitment continues this year … new communication channel established to attract AI/ML talent
- ‘Undercover Silo,’ a series based on real case scenarios, will premiere on YouTube on June 19
Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced that it has launched an official YouTube channel called ‘Toss Challengers’, for the applicants interested in Toss.

‘Toss Challengers’ is a channel that shares with the public how Toss employees work and what the company culture is, based on real problem statements the company has faced and the solutions applied. The channel was created to provide more authentic information to potential applicants who are considering joining Toss. The channel name was inspired by Toss’ onboarding welcome gift ‘Toss for New Challengers’, reflecting Toss’s perspective of seeing new employees as “challengers” who embark on a journey of challenge together.

The channel’s first content, titled ‘Undercover Silo’, features six non-Toss employees working as Toss silo members and finding solutions to problems. The participants, who all have experiences of working at a startup, analyze each problem from their own perspectives and propose solutions. This intuitively demonstrates Toss’ decision-making process and way of working. ‘Undercover Silo’ is a nine-part series and new episodes will be released every Thursday at 5 PM, starting June 19th, on the ‘Toss Challengers’ YouTube channel.
The cast includes 6 individuals – Jocoding, a developer and a YouTuber with 663K subscribers, Hyungbin Choi, a former Toss PO currently studying at KAIST, Juhye Shin, a growth marketer at Selfish Club, Wonhee Jung, a former lead developer at Gangnam Unni, Eunhee Kim, a UX researcher at Rapolabs and Minseung Yoo, former COO of Business Canvas.
“Toss is a place where independent organizations called ‘silos’ can operate like startups without central control,” said Seung-gun Lee, CEO of Toss. “Through this YouTube channel, we will do our best to transparently share how we work and what our culture is like” in the teaser video for the channel.
Meanwhile, Toss continues its large-scale recruitment this year, following last year’s hiring drive. Seung-gun Lee recently emphasized the importance of hiring in the fields of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in an internal announcement. He also encouraged team members to refer external candidates, expressing strong determination to secure top talent.
