Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced that it has opened applications for the ‘2025 Toss NEXT Developer Challenge(NEXT Developer Challenge)’ on July 29, targeting developers with less than 3 years of experience.

Now in its 6th year, the NEXT Developer Challenge is a skill-based recruitment program for new developers. Its key feature is that candidates can directly demonstrate their capabilities and job fit through development assignments. In fact, those who joined Toss through this process have immediately been assigned to practical tasks such as service improvement and core function development. The program has thus become a recruitment pathway to identify technical potential regardless of prior work experiences.

This year, Toss aims to hire up to 50 developers. The positions open are in five areas: △Server △Frontend △Android △iOS △Node.js development. Notably, Toss Income will participate for the first time this year, joining Toss, Toss Securities, Toss Bank, and Toss Place, for a total of five Toss affiliates involved.

Applications can be submitted through the official NEXT Developer Challenge website until 23:59 on August 7. On August 9, applicants will undergo an online coding test and development assignments. These assignments consist of practical problems to identify developers who can work on real service operations.

Results will be announced on August 18 for the Server position and on August 12 for the other four positions. The next steps will include job interviews, cultural fit interviews, and reference checks, with additional pre-assignment stages possible depending on the position. Final hires are scheduled to join in mid-October.
